Dialogue in the Dark Singapore
After my internship experience in Dialogue in the Dark Singapore, I was requested by the General Manager to stay and work there as a part-time employee. I was involved in planning a few projects during the month there. Firstly, i was among the planning team for Dialogue in the Dark 10th Anniversary (DID 10). I was in-charge of scheduling the flow of activities during the event. Additionally, I was also involved in the planning of the Women's Forum Asia 2019, which we had to set a dark room workshop for the guests. Lastly, I was also involved in planning the layout for Orbis Lunch in the Dark at Scape.
Through these experiences, I learned to organize events. I also learned important skills such as proper time management and communication when planning large scale event.

Internship
Dialogue in the Dark Singapore(DID)

Dialogue in the Dark Singapore is a social enterprise where we aim to spread awareness for the visually impaired community. There is an exhibition in complete darkness and guests will be guided by a person with visual impairment.
I was posted to Dialogue in the Dark for a 6 and a half months internship. I was in-charged of daily operations, booking and finances. Every morning before we opened to welcome the clients, I have to make sure that all logistics were prepared beforehand. I have to make sure that the exhibition is ready. For booking, I have to handle calls and emails from clients. I have to answer their inquiries about Dialogue in the Dark. Additionally, I try my best to meet my clients certain requirements and expectations. As for finance, I have to make sure that the cash floats have the correct amount in the morning. At the end of the day, I have to key in the sales of the day and reset the float to the right amount.

Furthermore, I created a post-tour activity which aims to increase empathy towards the hearing impaired community.

Through my experiences as an intern in Dialogue in the Dark, I have learnt about being empathetic. Additionally, I developed leadership and facilitation skills under the guidance of my supervisors.

I used to work as a waiter at Nihon Mura as I really like to work with people. Additionally, I work to earn money to support my daily living.
From there,I learn communication skills that will allow me to build a friendly relationship with the customers.

AWWA Dementia Day Care Project
In 2017, when taking "Managing disability" module, i was attached to AWWA Dementia Day Care. I planned activities and conduct activities for the elderly with dementia there.
Student Day Care Center
I conducted social-emotional skills workshop for kids at a student day-care center.
GAMBLING ADDICTION ROADSHOW
I was part of the National Council on Problem Gambling (NCPG) Roadshow. In a group with six other members, we were tasked to set up a booth educate Ngee Ann Polytechnic students on how to help teens facing problem gambling.
BACK IN SILENCE
I created a post-tour activity at Dialogue in the Dark which aims to spread awareness for the hearing-impaired community. The general manager and the guest love the idea and till today, the activity is still on-going.
Community Mapping Exercise
We were tasked to go to Ang Mo Kio Block 409 Market to do a community mapping exercise where we will identify the assets of the market.
